These are the rules for ALL the serious role-playing forums.
1. NO AUTO-HITTING This is a fairly basic rule. It means do not assume someone else's reaction. Simply because they might have a different idea for what their character is doing. You may suggest a reaction, such as the amount of damage taken from an attack, but if they can think of a viable reason as to why they shouldn't take that damage, so be it.
2. NO GOD-MODING Another simple, yet easy to break rule. If you aren't familiar with the term, it basically means no creating characters who have no weakness, or who are either super weapons or have a non-ending supply of them, etc. Also falling into this category is creating a character with things they shouldn't have or be able to do. No one’s character is immortal or all powerful. So play like it. If you are hit with a hex, take the damage. Unless you can provide a clear and reasonable explanation for why your character wasn’t affected, you must always take the hit and are at liberty to strike back when able.
3. NO USING “THOUGHT” INFORMATION This rule simply states that you shouldn't use things you know the other characters are secretly thinking. All that means is just because you know something, it does not instantly mean that the character you’re playing does. If your character has a reason to know something and you can explain it when asked, then more power to you, but "He knows through a charm" or “by the power of the force” isn't always going to save you, so be prepared to back yourself up. If you cannot prove your character should know, then you are required to go back and edit your post.
4. DO NOT MANAGE OTHER PEOPLE'S CHARACTERS IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM This means that you cannot control another player's character, UNLESS THE OTHER PLAYER AND GAME MASTER GIVES YOU PERMISSION.
5. DONT KILL OFF A CHARACTER WITHOUT PERMISSION No one has permission to just kill off a character without first asking the individual playing the character and the GameMaster. All requests MUST be posted in the "Ask the GameMaster" board for the role-play you are in.
6. DO NOT POST TOO MANY ACTIONS ON ONE POST What this means is that while engaged in a battle type of role-play, one shouldn’t cover a post with nothing but ducking and hitting. Post one action and WAIT for the other player to make a response. WAIT until the other player posts what the effect was, and returns an attack, if any. You don’t get to swing and say you defeated your foe in one long post.
7. HAVE PATIENCE People do have lives outside of the forum or live in various time zones and places. While it would be a thrill to see everyone online all at once, it is just not possible. It's completely normal to have to wait a day or two for someone to respond to your post.
8. LET OTHER PLAYERS KNOW IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE AWAY FOR AWHILE If you are going to be offline for longer than a 3-day period let the other role-players know about it. If it'll be longer than two weeks we recommend that you open up the character to another player to play or allow the GameMaster to control the character.
9. DO NOT ARGUE OUT OF CHARACTER IN THE GAME TOPICS If you have a disagreement about something you can either send a message to the GameMaster via pm or talk it out on the Out of Character forum provided. Keep in mind that if you involve the GameMaster in your argument that they will look at both sides of the argument and at the posts in question. And whatever decision they make is FINAL
